Privacy and platforms
The boring sh*t. Privacy and platforms

What I won't do with your data:

I will not use Meta tracking codes. Ever. Hard no. I don't commoditise people's privacy. I knew how bad it was back in 2010, and nothing that's happened since has made me change my mind.

Where you'll find me:

  • Here, on this site: All my content lives here, on a structure I own. Not rented from Zuckerberg, not at the mercy of an algorithm, not subject to the whims of whatever billionaire fancies destroying a platform this week.
  • Instagram: Given what I've said about Zuckaberg above, I'm conscious that social media is a minefield. The only platform I'll post content to is Instagram. It's not my favourite, but I'm going to be deliberate about what I share over there, photos first, slow consumption. Think of it as an amuse-bouche for what's over here.

Where you won't find me:

  • Twitter/X: I do not, nor will I ever, have an account on the platform formerly known as Twitter. I deleted my account after the thin-skinned tech bro bought it and destroyed it.
  • TikTok or YouTube: I have no patience for yet another platform. I don't have the skill, patience, or time to create beautifully edited films. I'm lucky if I take a good photo (which I do genuinely love - capturing a moment in time that I can reinterpret in different ways).

What I will do with your data

Send you emails, but only if you've signed up to get them. And only if you've been a very good dog. No, wait, sorry, brain washed by Eliot.
